Job Description

Our client in Maidstone who provide support to vulnerable adults in the community are looking to recruit a CQC Registered Manager to plan, direct and manage the operations of the business, delivering the services and developing the domiciliary agency supporting vulnerable adults within the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage the day to day running of the business.
  • Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high quality care to service users within budget.
  • Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide sound leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.
  • Implement quality management and improvement systems. Effectively manage complaints and incidents. Carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service and use findings to make improvements.
  • Promote the rights of each service user and keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
  • Manage the effective recruitment, induction and training of the service coordinator(s), supervisor(s), care workers and other support staff.
  • Ensure there are sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff allocated appropriately to meet service needs at all times. Implement company policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters.
  • Carry out appraisals and monitoring of staff performance.
  • Ensure all emergency on-call issues are dealt with effectively, such as covering calls either directly or indirectly when support workers are sick or absent.
  • Attend external meetings and represent the services of the organisation.
  • Participate in the growth and development of the business. Work with the Owner to achieve sales targets and deliver within budget.
  • Be aware of all relevant business opportunities, including the retender of existing services and contracts with appropriate commissioners.
  • Develop, present and manage agreed budgets, working with the finance business partner.

Essential criteria, qualifications and experience

  • A CQC recognised care management qualification (essential). NVQ Level 5 (Desirable).
  • Safeguarding management experience (essential). Domiciliary Care background (Desirable).
  • Proven experience in a position of leadership within a management team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Excel.
  • Ability to make effective decisions within established procedures and regulations.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Experience of delivering a first class service to Support Users.
  • Be a pro-active, strong leader with excellent time keeping skills.
