Job Description
Our client based in Ashford are recruiting an Electrical Engineer/Fitter.
The company design and manufacture their own range of liquid filling and capping machines which serve a wide range of industries and a worldwide customer base.
The successful candidate will work alongside the existing technical, production and service teams consisting of mechanical and electrical engineers. The role is principally based at the Ashford factory but there is an expectation to occasionally travel to customers sites (UK and worldwide) to assist the service engineer with installations, commissioning, modifications and breakdowns.
Expectations of the role as follows:
- Preparation and assembly of electrical control panels from components, their subsequent installation and integration onto machinery.
- Electrical and electro-pneumatic assembly and testing of machinery including fault finding and PLC control setup.
- Work with the electrical design engineer to develop new designs and keep existing designs up to date.
- Provide electrical/electro-pneumatic support for service engineer and customers (in person or remotely).
The ideal candidate will have:
- Electrical qualification (level 4/HNC) or better.
- Experience reading and understanding electrical drawings.
- Experience of working with pneumatics and electro-pneumatics.
- Some basic PLC knowledge (no expectation to programme).
- Be aware of the requirements of BS EN 60204 Part 1 (Electrical Safety of Machinery) or equivalent specifications.
- Experience with industrial machinery ideally in a food/pharmaceutical or production environment.
The offer:
- Permanent contract (40hrs/week), 8am to 4:30pm Mon-Fri with ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 10 minute paid tea breaks
- Competitive salary £35,000 – £42,000 (dependant on experience)
