Job Description
Our client a global distributor of automotive parts with 175 years of history; are looking to recruit an Inbound Customs Administrator to join the team.
This will be for 1-year Fixed Term Contract. There is the possibility that this will be extended or potentially become a permanent role in the future.
As an Inbound Customs Administrator you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the administration of the import process, ensuring the company upholds compliance in its status as an Authorised Economic Operator.
- Supporting the administration of information held on internal databases relating to the country of origin and commodity codes of product.
- To ensure transport costs of inbound shipments are recorded to support reporting, highlighting exceptional costs.
- To collaborate with the Inbound Management team, providing data and analysis to support the coordination of inbound deliveries.
- To support the administration of the department processes and assist with the documentation of all relevant procedures.
- To actively seek to understand all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement and logistics to ensure the company adheres to customs requirements across the network.
- To support the Inbound Customs Analyst in the effective achievement of departmental and company targets, objectives and projects.
Qualifications required are:
- Educated to GCSE Standard or equivalent
Experience & skills required:
- Experience in Shipping or Logistics role is desirable
- Intermediate Excel skills – comfortable using Excel
- A team player and able to work well under pressure
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Dynamic and energetic, with a positive outlook.
- Adaptable with a sense of urgency to task, reliable and accurate with the ability to forge relationships quickly.
- Able to communicate and deal with all levels of people.

Salary: £24,000 – £26,000 per annum
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm
