With Britain fast approaching a recession, employers are being forced into making important business decisions, including having to make a number of redundancies, resulting in a 40% increase in unemployment being forecast. Recent figures show that the number of people out of work and claiming benefits in Maidstone alone in September stands at 1,219, and unemployment in Kent and Medway as a whole has shot up by more than 500.

Nationally, the number of unemployed people soared by 164,000 to 1.79 million in the three months to August, but some still believe that it could have been worse amid the recent economic turmoil.

Amidst these clearly unsettling times, Earl Street Employment continue to use their knowledge and skills as Employment Consultants to trade within an anxious market.
